EXCERPT
When Duke professor Alexander Keyssar began writing his new book, The Right to Vote, seven years ago, he had no idea its publication would presage one of the closest presidential elections in U.S. history.
The Herald-Sun sat down with Keyssar to discuss The Right to Vote: The Contested History of Democracy in the United States, and his recent testimony for the National Commission on Federal Election Reform, led by former presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, and the Congressional Black Caucus.
NOTE: The National Commission on Federal Election Reform is in no way affiliated with the Congressional Black Caucus. Please click on the "About Us" tab for more information about the Commission and the Federal Election Reform Network.
