Voting system rated excellent: Study applauds gubernatorial election of 2001

A new study of electoral systems gives Virginia an excellent grade for its gubernatorial election in 2001.

"Although the election did not proceed flawlessly, the system performed extremely well," says a study released yesterday by the New York-based Century Foundation, a nonprofit research group examining needs for further electoral reform.
