Monday, July 30, 2001 - The National Commission on Federal Election Reform will release its report to Congress and the White House on Tuesday, July 31. Representatives of the Commission, including its Co-Chairman President Jimmy Carter, will present the report to President Bush in a Rose Garden event at the White House at 11:00 a.m. There will be a press briefing at the National Press Club from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. The Commission is also providing private briefings to the House and Senate leadership.

President Carter and other Commissioners will conduct a briefing to the American people on the report's recommendations at the National Press Club at 1:00 p.m., in the Holeman Lounge. Copies of the full report, task force reports and other information will be available.

The Commission, made up of distinguished public leaders from across the political spectrum, has focused its efforts on the issues related to improving the process and administration of federal elections. The Commission was organized by the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs and The Century Foundation. Its work is made possible by the generous support of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
