National Commission on Federal Election Reform

The National Commission on Federal Election Reform will release its report to Congress and the White House on Tuesday, July 31. Representatives of the Commission, including its Co-Chairman President Jimmy Carter, will present the report to President Bush in a Rose Garden event at the White House at 11:00 a.m. There will be a press briefing at the National Press Club from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. The Commission is also providing private briefings to the House and Senate leadership.

The National Commission on Federal Election Reform, overseen by former Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, held its first meeting today in Washington, D.C. The Commission agreed on a far-reaching agenda and outlined plans for public hearings across the United States.
