The Los Angeles mayoral election was held just six months after the Florida presidential election fiasco but the results could not have been more diff e rent. California is no Florida when it comes to administering elections. With its progressive election system� including a liberal provisional balloting law and clear standards for counting votes and certifying an election�California had few problems at the polls.
